A small-sized class-J power amplifier from combined multi-harmonic voltage reflection functions

چکیده
In this study, multi-harmonic voltage reflections are analyzed for compact power amplifiers that can be integrated into micro-sized radio units. By combining impedances at DC and harmonic frequencies throughout the transmission lines of power amplifier circuits, this method is used to reduce analytically the footprint of these circuits. Further, a cost function that takes the occupied area and the circuit performance into account is used to measure the effectiveness of the suggested method. For the sake of verification, a 10W class-J power amplifier is designed for 2.0– 2.5GHz, and showed a 35% reduction in its footprint, a peak efficiency of 71.3%, an output power of 40 dBm.

A Class E Power Amplifier with Low Voltage Stress
A new output structure for class E power amplifier (PA) is proposed in this paper. A series LC resonator circuit, tuned near the second harmonic of the operating frequency is added to the output circuit. This resonator causes low impedance at the second harmonic. The output circuit is designed to shape the switch voltage of the class E amplifier and lower the voltage stress of the transistor. T...
متن کاملMulti-Cell Switch-Mode Power Amplifier with Closed-Loop Hybrid Output Voltage Filter
Abstract In this paper a promising novel output voltage filtering concept for multi-cell switch-mode power amplifiers is analyzed. The proposed hybrid filtering concept is based on a passive LC filter enhanced by a linear-mode correction stage of small rated power. Using this principle, also "sub-harmonic" (i.e. low-frequency) switching noise distortions (typically appearing in real interleaved...

This paper proposes a low voltage (±0.55V supply voltage) low power (44.65µW) high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) differential amplifier (d.a.) with rail to rail input common mode range (ICMR), constant transconductance (gm) and enhanced frequency performance. Its high performance is obtained using a simple negative averaging method so that it cancels out the common mode input signals at th...
متن کاملActive Power Filter Design by a Novel Approach of Multi-Objective Optimization
This paper presents an innovative active power filter design method to simultaneously compensate the current harmonics and reactive power of a nonlinear load. The power filter integrates a passive power filter which is a RL low-pass filter placed in series with the load, and an active power filter which comprises an RL in series with an IGBT based voltage source converter. The filter is assumed...
متن کاملBlack Box Modelling of Power Transistors in the Frequency Domain
A frequency domain black box model for power transistors is proposed. It can accurately predict the behavior of the transistor for a one tone excitation with arbitrary fundamental and harmonic impedances present at the output. The model parameters can be extracted out of a limited set of “nonlinear network analyzer” measurements. Both simulated as well as measured results are given. Introductio...
